“RT Malins exceeded any expectation we had for our pool building experience. As with most homeowners who decide to add a pool the fear of choosing the wrong builder is strong. From our first meeting with Tom he made my wife and I feel very confident in their abilities to deliver on quality, budget and time. It was fun to watch the building process, Bobby is definitely a master builder. Our pool finished right when California shut down and Bobby personally ensured all of the small details were handled correctly with our pool. We have been in the jacuzzi and/or pool literally every day for the past 5 weeks. The quarantine hasn’t felt like much of a quarantine to my family. Our backyard is our own resort getaway. Our only regret is that we can’t share our new amazing backyard with friends “YET”. I whole heartedly recommend RT Malins to anyone looking to add a pool/jacuzzi to their home. They deliver on quality, the cost is exactly what they tell you from day one and the speed at which they work is impressive. Our pool was done in 6 weeks and that was with some rain delays.”
“Malin’s Cutom Pools lived up to all recommendations. Collaborating with Bobby Malin and Tom Ladage throughout the build was incredibly easy. Tom met with us to discuss concepts, design materials, and budgets. His initial renderings so closely reflected our ideas, that only small changes were needed to finalize the design. Bobby proved to be a “hands on” owner, managing his construction crews personally each day. Working with Bobby was very easy also. He listened, made recommendations, and alleviated any concerns we had. I was especially impressed with Bobby’s ability at troubleshooting unforseen issues that occurred during the build. The main construction crew was the same group each day. The quality of their work was impressive. The build was started in August 2017, with water in the pool by mid September 2017. Our overall experience with Malin’s Custom Pools was five Stars.”
“I am very pleased with the work that this company did on our remodel. From start to finish they were exceedingly professional, efficient and productive. The scope of work involved removing the old plaster and tile, leak testing, installing an auto fill device, replacing existing lighting with programmable colored led lighting, cutting the deck and putting in travertine border around the pool, retiling the water line and placing stacked stone on the riser.
In addition, we converted to salt water and replaced our existing controller with a new one which allows for phone remote to control all of the devices.
While other contractors were saying this job might take a month to complete, Bobby and his crew were in and out in 12 days! The yard was left in pristine condition and the quality of the workmanship was top notch.
While these contractors were not the least expensive option, I chose them because they know what they are talking about and what they are doing. I highly recommend.”
“After meeting with several pool contractors, my husband and I signed a contract with R.T. Malins. From our first meeting with Tom, all of our questions were answered and our concerns were eased. While we heard from many companies that the project would take 9-12 weeks to complete, Tom said they would have it completed in just 4 weeks. They began pool construction on July 24th. The owner, Bobby, was on the job everyday to check in on the progress, give us the run down of what to expect for the day, and answer any questions that we had. The contractors that were at our house worked diligently day in and day out. The masonry crew was incredible and flawlessly created the puckercrete look that my husband and I requested. The project was completed without any issues and our first day swimming was Friday, August 17 (just 24 days from the day they broke ground). We can not recommend R.T. Malins enough! Thank you Bobby and Tom for such a wonderful experience!! We love our beautiful pool and spa! It is well beyond our expectations.”

“I had Bobby with R.T. Malins Custom Pools remodel my old pool. I got 3 other estimates and after a recommendation from a friend and meeting with Tom I went with R.T. Malins. I am a plumbing contractor myself so I respect ( pardon my French ) a no bs approach to sales. This is how I operate my business and that is exactly what I got from R.T. Malins. You hear horror stories about pool contractors and that is not the experience that you will have with this amazing company. Not only will your pool be done on time, to the exact or better than your expectations, and handled with the attentive care as if it were their own pool they were building. “This is the second time Malins did my pool; the first time was when my home was built in 1989. It was in serious need of attention, but was solid. Bobby Malins came out and helped me select the ledger stone and tile, and explained the longevity of plaster vs. pebbletech. I was thrilled to see the job start, and progress, and the proof is in the beautiful pool that I am so proud of. Any one who is thinking of resurfacing, or repairing an older pool, these are the guys to call. State Licensed, bonded and insured.
